Nagpatong Rock + Outreach Program in Sitio Tuoy

Date: December 17, 2017

It was my first time to organize an event like this. It's overwhelming at first but for the calling of sharing this Christmas season, and with the help of these kind-hearted people with me, and of course the people who donated goodies for the kids, we were able to make this event a success!

This post won't contain any itineraries or travel guide guys, sorry. Because this post is supposed to open your hearts to camaraderie and sharing to our fellow brothers and sisters. (Wait, I sound so kind! Charot!) :P

If you follow Dainty Freckles on facebook you might saw our event, "Project Pangitiin ang mga Batang Dumagat"which I hosted with my fellow climber friends. We had a target of supplying 60 hygiene kits to the kids of Sitio Tuoy plus toys and to feed them on the said day.

So I contacted friends who also climb and explained to them our project, and luckily, we were able to create a group who will deliver the gifts to Sitio Tuoy. There were also friends who donated goodies for the kids and even cash donations and we were so grateful for them.

Even managed to also buy simple noche buena package for our guides.

Since it was a non-profit event, the hike to Nagpatong Rock is a DIY(Do-It-Yourself) Climb. We pitched in for everything; our service jeepney, food, and guide fees.

The hike started at around 7AM, because this guy right here was LATE! hahaha! But he still showed up and for that, we are grateful!

Traffic! Sardinas us while waiting for others to come down of the rock formation.
14 brave hearts! Kudos guys!
Despite of the rain, muddy trail and strong wind, we finished the hike complete and intact! We then headed down to have our lunch, as Sitio Tuoy is quite far from Nagpatong Rock. It's nearer in Mt. Paliparan but the group excites Nagpatong Rock so, majority wins! :)

We started our route to Sitio Tuoy at 1:30 PM. It was drizzling and the trail was slippery but I didn't see any sign of relinquish on any of my friends' faces. Everyone is very committed to our goal that day!

After the two-hour walk, we finally reached the community. We had to prepare immediately to cook the soup we were gonna feed to the kids, and the loots that we were going to give to them so we barely had time to rest.

Kudos to this girl for being extra hands on! She hosted the games as well! Love you!
This girl as well for helping me with everything; from planning to shopping in Divisoria to budgeting the sopas! Hahaha!

Thank you everyone, and looking forward to making more outreach programs with you guys!

To the Dumagat tribe who welcomed us warmly and to those lend us their cooking set, thank you so much! 💕

To the kids whom we made happy that day, keep shining, keep dreaming little ones!
