Mt. Manalmon x Mt. Gola Twinhike + Monkey Bridge Crossing

6:54:00 AM

Hey lovelies! Here I am again apologizing for the lack of post. Corporate world, that's why. :) So I'm going to make it up to you and provide another budget travel guide near Manila. Without further ado, please scroll down my friend!

Mt. Manalmon and Mt. Gola had been on our list since last year, but for some reason, it always gets cancelled. This year, we really pushed through despite of few participants in the group. In fact, we were only three in the group!

How to Get There:

  • Take a San Miguel bound bus via Five Star in Cubao Terminal  (we took a "Cabanatuan" signed bus) (Address: Epifanio delos Santos Avenue, Cubao, Quezon City | Contact No. 0926-232-1740)
  • Ask the conductor to drop you off in Brgy. Kamias
  • Hire a tricycle going to Sitio Madlum/Jump off

Mt. Manalmon and Mt. Gola are both rated as 2/9 in level of difficulty and stands at 190+ MASL so I would recommend it for beginners. Although, you must still consider the scorching heat so better bring enough water guys.

At the Summit of Mt. Manalmon

We finished the hike in Mt. Manalmon at 09:45 AM making it a 1-hour hike. Phew! That was fast! :)
That is maybe because the trail is mostly

On our way to Mt. Gola
Some parts of the trail is exposed to the sun so you might want to apply sunblock, wear arm sleeves, or wear cap at least. Personally, I love the sun and I don't mind getting tanned, so I would usually just wear a cap.

Crossing the Monkey Bridge

This was the end part of the bridge, I had to practice because I was already feeling a bit nervous! Gladly, I became at ease and regained my excitement on crossing the bridge!
This monkey bridge basically has two cable wires that is suspended on both side of the river which was originally made for guides for a faster means of crossing to the other end of the river. Until such time that it became an attraction for the hikers.

Thought it is totally safe because of the harness, you can't just ignore the fact that you are hanging several feet above the river. Adding the another fact that I cannot swim, it took a lot of courage doing this! :P But hey! It's actually fun once you become at ease with the cable wires and you start to look at the beautiful view around and below. You must watch our video here!
