Treasure Mountain + Pililla Windmills
I have been to almost everywhere in Rizal except the two of the most visited tourist spots here; Treasure Mountain and Pililla Windmills. So when got invited to visit these places, I decided to finally go.
Location: Sitio Maysawa, Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal
How to Get There:
Treasure Mountain:
- From Cubao take a Cogeo-bound jeepney and tell the driver to drop you off at Gate 2(landmark is the Super8 at your left side)
- Walk towards the Palengke and look for the terminal of jeepneys going to Sampaloc(First trip is 4:30AM if I remembered it right)
- Ask the driver to drop you of at Sitio Maysawa or simply say Treasure Mountain
- You can either walk (30-45mins) or ride a tricycle going to the Registration Area
To Pililla Windmills:
- From Maysawa, hail a jeep going to Sampaloc
- From Sampaloc hire a tricycle going to Pililla and back to Sampaloc
- From Sampaloc you can take a jeep going to Tanay Market, from there, take a jeep going back to Crossing/Shaw.
Expenses:
Cogeo to Maysawa(Jeep) Php48
Tricycle to Registration Area (optional) Php30/pax we walked
Entrance Fee Php150/day tour | Php200/overnight

Treasure Mountain is known for its nice sea of clouds minus leg pain because it doesn't require trekking. From the highway, tricycles are available for hire going inside the registration area. There are kids, couples, families and even elders who are from different places coming to witness an extraordinary morning here in Treasure Mountain.
There's a store inside where breakfast is available huts exclusively for their customers. You can also pitch a tent, you can bring your own or rent if you opt to stay overnight.
Oh, look at that! I've witnessed sea of clouds before, several times already but I still feel the same amazement I felt during my first sighting of this. It's classic. I chose to just stare at it first and let the others take their selfies at this beautiful background.
Treasure Mountain can be very crowded especially during weekends, so manage your expectations and lengthen your patience.
I was really looking forward to taking a nice time lapse on that day. But it's quite hard to look for a spot because of the crowd, good thing I got a gorilla pod with me!So I was just there, enjoying the view while looking after my camera.
People eventually left after gratifying their desires in witnessing the sea of clouds. Which gave me a chance to take snaps for the blog! See? Patience is a virtue!
Pililla Windmills
We were supposed to visit the nearby El Patio Razon where the famous Kawa Hot Bath can be experienced. But there's a long queue, we have to wait for like three hours! We don't wanna waste time so we decided to skip that activity and proceeded to Pililla Windmills.
There is no entrance fee, so again expect the crowd. I think it's best to go in the afternoon for the sunset. We arrived at noontime, it was scorching hot so we did not stay that long.
Souvenirs are every where in the place. There's pen holders, key chains, paper weights and a lot more! Price ranges from Php 90 to Php 200. Get yourself one or even more if you have extra bucks, it'll help the locals! :)
